Charles's Experience

Charles has been interested in politics all his life delivering his first leaflets at the age of six during the February 1974 General Election. On graduating from the University of Oregon in the USA he returned to England and became involved in local politics. From 1992 to 2004 he held a number of Association positions and was elected to Wandsworth Council in 2002. Prior to this he was the Parliamentary Candidate in Ealing North in the 2001 General Election.

He was re-elected as a Member of Parliament in May 2010 in the constituency of Broxbourne. Charles is Vice Chairman of the Conservatives 1922 committee.

Professionally, Charles has pursued a career in marketing and communications and has held senior positions within a number of people focused businesses. He is a former main Board Director of the staffing firm Blue Arrow, which places upwards of 20,000 people into work each day.

About Charles

Charles is married to Fiona and they have three young children, Charlotte, Alistair and James. Prior to being elected to Parliament, he worked in the IT sector having held a variety of communication and marketing positions with both private and listed companies.

Charles's hobbies include fishing and watching cricket. He also has two small Jack Russell terriers, Islay and Wimble, who have stamped their character on the family.
